Advisory & Distribution

We work in the shade,
so your brand stands in the light.

Velvet Shade is a British advisory and distribution firm with two disciplines: turning supplier dealings into strategic partnerships, and taking product brands onto shelves around the world.

Velvet Shade Ltd · Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England

The Firm

Two disciplines. One standard.

Most consultancies advise. Most distributors ship. Velvet Shade does the connected work in between: we strengthen the supplier relationships behind your products, and we open the retail doors in front of them. Engagements are led by the people you meet on day one, scaled to your business, and measured against outcomes agreed at the start — not activity.

About the firm

Practice I

Supplier Relationship Management

Transactional supplier dealings leave value on the table. We build the frameworks, measures and working relationships that turn key suppliers into strategic partners — better performance, lower risk, and innovation you’d never get from a purchase order.

Practice II

Global Distribution

Getting a product made is one job. Getting it listed, promoted and moving through retail in unfamiliar markets is another. We handle the second — research, listings, retail partnerships, promotion and logistics, end to end.

The House Standard

What we hold ourselves to.

I. Partnership

We work as an extension of your team. Your objectives set the agenda; our job is to move them.

II. Innovation

We question how things are done — including our own methods — and keep only what earns its place.

III. Excellence

We hold every engagement to one standard: work we would put our name to. And we do.

IV. Integrity

We say what we think, charge for what we do, and keep the confidences we’re given.

A note on discretion

The client list you won’t find here

We don’t publish the names of the companies we work for, and we never will. The work sits inside supply chains and retail negotiations — commercially sensitive by nature — and we treat it that way. Discretion is not a gap in our marketing; it is part of the service. Our clients’ names are theirs to share, not ours.

If you’d like to understand our track record, ask us directly. We would rather earn your confidence in conversation than borrow it from a logo wall.
